Mortgage PPI
Mortgages, much like credit cards and loans have been subject to adverse publicity due to PPI or payment protection insurance being added to a mortgage fee without the consent or knowledge of the policy holder.
PPI has been mis-sold by banks, building societies and hig street lenders over the last several years. Upon admitting that it has been mis-sold the lenders have all been fined millions of pounds in damages and ordered to repay any PPI premiums taken plus interest to all those who were mis-sold the product.
You were mis-sold PPI if:
- You were unaware that the account included PPI
- If you were not told about the policy exclusions
- If the lender did not tell you that PPI was optional
- If the lender did not tell you that you could get PPI from another provider
- If you were told that having PPI would help your application
To claim back mortgage PPI get in touch with a PPI claims company and start the process, the first thing to do is to check your statements and agreements to see if you have PPI added to the account.
